Sassy was one of the "founders" of the band, along with Meg in Okinawa, Japan. They started out playing a lot of Metallica songs, but decided to become their own original band and recruited Kazuto, mACKAz, and Yuusuke. They named themselves ANTI-NOBUNAGA. After gaining much popularity and recognition for their young talents, they happened to meet Maki at Spice Records' Studio. She decided to join them and the band renamed themselves HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR.
Sassy actually came up with part of the name. "haikara" means stylish or fashionable. Yusuke added the "mighty" part because it strongly describes their music style. and there you have it. HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR! (good job sassy!) ... (and yusuke too!)
on a personal note, i was recently able to see/listen/meet HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR in person at the ShioKazeCon in Houston, Texas. :D here's a pic of sassy:
